Fela marries Remi. The couple’s first daughter, Omoyeni (Yeni), is born.
High-profile fashion photographer Brian Duffy shoots Koola Lobitos for Vogue magazine, for a proposed article with the working title “Evening Looks and All That Jazz.” Models wear clothes by the Queen’s dress designer, Hardy Amies, and Koola Lobitos add atmosphere. The article is not published, but in a surviving photograph, Fela, looking sharp, is shown in the foreground playing trumpet. JK Braimah is in the background playing guitar. Back in Nigeria, Fela’s mother finances the RK label, which releases three singles recorded by Koola Lobitos in London.
